## Prompt 1: Competitor Monitoring Setup

Run this once to establish your monitoring baseline.

```
I need to monitor [COMPETITOR 1], [COMPETITOR 2], [COMPETITOR 3].
Here's what I know today:
- Our pricing: [your pricing model]
- Our core features: [list 3-5 features]
- Our target customer: [describe]
For each competitor, provide:
1. Current pricing (if public)
2. Top 5 features they're promoting
3. Who they're targeting (customer segment)
4. Positioning statement (how they describe themselves)
5. How they compare to us on each of our 3 core features
Output: Competitor comparison table.
```

**Frequency:** Run once, update quarterly
**Time:** 20 minutes
**Save to:** Notion or shared doc (you'll reference this weekly)

---

## Prompt 2: Weekly Competitor Analysis

Run every Monday to catch what changed.

```
Here are my competitors:
[PASTE YOUR MONITORING TABLE FROM ABOVE]
This week I noticed:
- [COMPETITOR 1]: [what you observed - new blog post, pricing change, feature, etc.]
- [COMPETITOR 2]: [what you observed]
- [COMPETITOR 3]: [what you observed]
Analysis: What changed? What does it mean for us?
1. Which competitor moved most?
2. What's their strategic intent?
3. Should we respond? How?
4. What opportunity does this create for us?
Flag any immediate threats or opportunities.
```

**Frequency:** Weekly (Monday)
**Time:** 10 minutes
**Output:** Share key findings in #product Slack channel

---

## Prompt 3: Feature Comparison Deep Dive

Run this when a competitor launches something notable.

```
I want to understand how [COMPETITOR FEATURE] compares to our [YOUR FEATURE].
Their version:
[DESCRIBE WHAT THEY'RE DOING - LINK TO DOCS/DEMO]
Our version:
[DESCRIBE WHAT WE DO]
Compare on:
1. User experience (ease of use)
2. Feature depth (what can you do with it)
3. Integration with their ecosystem
4. Pricing (if feature is paid vs free)
5. Target use case
Questions:
- Where do we win?
- Where do we lose?
- What would it take for us to catch up?
- Should we leapfrog their approach?
```

**Frequency:** As needed (when competitor launches something notable)
**Time:** 15 minutes
**Output:** Share in #product, add to product roadmap discussion

---

## Prompt 4: Positioning Analysis

Run quarterly to keep your positioning sharp.

```
Here's what competitors say about themselves:
- [COMPETITOR 1]: [paste their positioning]
- [COMPETITOR 2]: [paste their positioning]
- [COMPETITOR 3]: [paste their positioning]
Analysis:
1. Where are we unique? (what do only we claim)
2. Where are we generic? (what everyone claims)
3. What narrative is winning in the market?
4. How should we evolve our positioning?
5. What do customers care about most? (align positioning to that)
Recommend 2-3 words we should own that competitors don't claim.
```
