About the quiz
What does the Builder level quiz measure?+
How much of the Product Builder Standard you run in a normal week. Twelve questions, two for each of the six skills: Rapid Prototyping, Customer Proximity, AI Fluency, Outcomes Thinking, Storytelling and Distribution, and End-to-End Ownership. It measures practice, not talent or seniority.
How is the score calculated?+
Each answer is worth 0 to 3 points, so each skill scores 0 to 6 and the total runs 0 to 36. Level 1 (Spec Writer) is 0 to 11, Level 2 (Builder in Training) is 12 to 20, Level 3 (Product Builder) is 21 to 28, and Level 4 (Bar Raiser) is 29 to 36. No weighting.
Is a Level 4 the same as a Principal Product Builder?+
No. The job ladder levels (Product Builder, Senior, Staff, Principal) are about scope and years, which a quiz cannot see. The quiz levels describe how you work, not the size of what you own. A first-year Product Builder can be a Bar Raiser in practice.
Do I need to sign up to see my result?+
No. The result shows on the page the moment you finish, and nothing is stored on a server. You can share it, embed the badge, or close the tab.
What should I do with my result?+
Fix the weakest skill first. The result names it and links to the chapter of the Standard that explains it, one handbook chapter, one template, and one thing to do this week. Retake the quiz in a month.
